News Release Date: November 1, 1999 For Release: Immediately Contact: John Strand, Market Specialist, Quick Coupling Division (612) 525-4232, Fax: (612) 544-3418, E-mail: jstrand@parker.com Cleveland, OH (November 1, 1999)- Parker Hannifin Corporation, along with the more than 270 affiliated ParkerStores worldwide are pleased to announce that they will continue their primary sponsorship of Donny Schatz Motorsports for the year 2000. Donny Schatz is a standout competitor and the 1997 'Rookie of the Year' with the World of Outlaws sprint car series. The sponsorship agreement will also cover Donny's upcoming racing efforts with the World Series Sprintcars in Australia over the winter months. Schatz will compete in his ParkerStore sponsored ride at more than twenty events during his three-month stint down under. The Australian series kicks off on November 24 at the Kalgoorlie Speedway in Kalgoorlie, WA and concludes on January 30 at the Premier Speedway in Warnambool, VIC. The ParkerStores have been associated with Donny Schatz Motorsports for the past two seasons. "We originally signed on for the '100 Years of Trucking' tour during the 1998 racing season," said John Strand, market specialist at Parker's Quick Coupling Division. "We were very happy with the response and exposure that we received from those fifteen nights of racing. We are confident that Donny is going to be one of the big World of Outlaws' stars in the near future." Schatz is currently wrapping up the 1999 racing season. The final event of the year will be a three-night program in Las Vegas on November 1-3. After the conclusion of the season and World of Outlaws award banquet, Donny will have less than two weeks to relax before boarding the plane to Australia. "We're happy to have the ParkerStores on as a sponsor again," stated Donny. "We hope we can do a great job for them next year. Things are really starting to come together now at the end of the season. It's just too bad that there are only a few races left. The whole World of Outlaws series could really break loose next year. We're going to be running at some of the Winston Cup facilities and back at the Heartland Park Topeka drag strip again, so it's going to open up our style of racing to an all new audience." The World of Outlaws runs over 100 nights of racing each year in twenty-five states. Television has also become an integral part of the world's premier sprint car racing series. The program, which is billed as the 'greatest show on dirt', has become a fan favorite with TNN Motorsports on The Nashville Network. "The World of Outlaws is a great avenue for us to increase the awareness of the ParkerStores and our world wide network of distribution, " said Harry Waldron, Distributor Development Manager for Parker. "This series covers the entire country, coast to coast and helps us support the smaller market areas as well as the large metropolitan areas. Donny has done an excellent job of representing the ParkerStores wherever he is racing and we wish him continued success in the upcoming season." With nearly $5 billion in annual sales, Parker Hannifin Corporation is the worlds leading diversified manufacturer of motion and control technologies, providing systematic, precision-engineered solutions for a wide variety of commercial, industrial and aerospace markets.
