Minneapolis, MN (November 18, 1999)- Donny Schatz is feeling totally refreshed after taking a break from the grueling World of Outlaws tour. After driving his motorcoach back from the season ending show in Las Vegas, Donny spent his entire time off watching TV, (about an hour), and then started packing for his three-month driving stint in Australia.

The Parker sponsored driver will be driving for team owner Shane Krikke and Bunbury Toyota Racing from Bunbury, West Australia. Krikke is a sprint car driver himself, but due to a recent battle with cancer, decided to contract Schatz as his driver for the 1999/2000 racing series. "Last January Donny came out to Perth for the first time and won the annual WA Speedweeks title. His results with the World of Outlaws indicate that he is very talented, but what really impressed me was the way he looked after his equipment and his quiet temperament and personality," said Shane.

Parker Hannifin will be joining forces with Parker's Enzed operation to provide sponsorship support for the World Series Sprintcars tour. Schatz will be flying the Enzed and Parker Fluid Connectors logos. Parker-Enzed operates more than 120 service centers in Australia and New Zealand. Their program is very similar to the ParkerStore and Hose Doctor programs in other parts of the world.

Schatz was very excited about returning to Australia. Fellow teammates Dave Yingst, Billy Gaule and Todd Devnich will be staying behind this year. Their plan is to work on the equipment over the winter months, and have everything ready to go when Donny returns in February. Last year the crew also went to Australia, and it made it very difficult to get things ready before the start of the World of Outlaws season. "Perth is one of the most beautiful cities I have every seen," said Todd. "Everything is so clean down there. We had a great time, but it was just tough to get ready for the season back here."

The Australian series kicks off on November 24 at the Kalgoorlie Speedway in Kalgoorlie, WA and concludes on January 30 at the Premier Speedway in Warnambool, VIC. Watch for continuous updates on the Australian racing adventures over the next three months. Make sure you add this site to your 'favorites' folder, so you don't miss any of the action!
