schatz action.jpg (38908 bytes)(West Lebanon, NY, May 30, 2000) Things are starting to come together for Donny Schatz and the ParkerStore sponsored World of Outlaws sprint car team. Schatz followed Sammy Swindell across the line for a second place finish Monday night at the Lebanon Valley Speedway in West Lebanon, NY. This is only the second top five World of Outlaws finish this season for the North Dakota standout. This finish moved him into the twelfth position in the W.o.O. points race.

Schatz qualified fifth with a time of 17.171. Swindell captured the Vivarin fast time award, turning in a time of 16.656. Donny went on to win the second heat of the evening, before following Sammy to the checkered flag in the second Channellock Dash event.

"We were running really well last night", said Schatz. "I think that we were as fast as Sammy, but he seemed to get a lot of breaks working his way through lap traffic. We also figured out that we had a little problem with the throttle linkage, and it has really made a big difference."

Schatz will be competing at Rolling Wheels Raceway in Elbridge, NY on Wednesday night May 31. He will then be at a ParkerStore (K.D. Supply) open house in Syracuse, NY the following day.
