GRANVILLE, NSW - Mother Nature threatened to cancel the opening night of the Gough and Gilmour CAT 50,000 at Parramatta City Raceway, but nothing was stopping Donny Schatz. After collecting the most points in the preliminary program, the World of Outlaws star took the lead on lap ten of the 35-lap feature and finished his Australian Tour with a bang.

"It's been a great trip," said Schatz, who drove Luch Monte's #15 sprinter. "To win the Classic and pick up $50,000 here really is unbelievable. We love coming over here because the people are so great. Last year, we did the entire World Series and kind of lost some our focus at the end. I think that hurt my World of Outlaws program last year, but I really feel like this year's trip is going to be a springboard for a great start in our ParkerStores #15."

Schatz started the race on the pole, but had to follow Parramatta's top gun Robbie Farr for ten laps. Schatz quickly drove away from Farr, Skip Jackson and Max Dumesny. A couple of late caution flags and one red flag slowed the action, but no one could handle the Minot Missile.

Schatz victories on his Australian Tour came at Kwinana Motorplex (January 5), Bunbury Raceway (January 13), Premier Speedway-Grand Annual Classic (January 28) and Saturday's race at Parramatta. Schatz finished in the top four in nine events and his only DNF (Did Not Finish) came after a tire blew while he was leading the preliminary feature at Premier.
