TALLADEGA, AL - Just when it looked like Donny Schatz and his ParkerStores #15 team were gaining momentum in the Pennzoil World of Outlaws, bad luck stopped them in their tracks. After Schatz finished 4th in Friday's preliminary program, "The Minot Missile" started Saturday's 40-lap "A" Feature in fifth and was running sixth before contact with Randy Hannagan caused the right front tire to go flat. After the crew changed the tire, Schatz rejoined the field and finished 14th. "I guess I was in the wrong place at the wrong time," said Schatz. "I'm confident we could have stayed up close to the top five the rest of the race. That's part of it racing, but it's really disappointing. My hope is that we've gotten all of this bad luck out of the way, so that we don't have to worry about it the rest of the year. The good thing is that we get to jump right back in the race car on Tuesday and put this behind us. We need to get on a roll to make up some ground in the standings." The team begins a busy week of action on Tuesday night at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City. Following Tuesday's program, they will travel to Knoxville Raceway for a two-night show and conclude the week at Huset's Speedway in Sioux Falls, SD. (Article & Photos by Bill Klingbeil)
