June 24, 2001; Slinger, WI - There was no stopping the ageless Al Schill as he drove to his second late model feature win of the season in the Ritter Parker Store 70 Sunday night at the Slinger Super Speedway."This is the same car I put in the fence a few years back," exclaimed Schill from victory lane referring to a spectacular incident that occurred in 1997. "The car is finally back and it was just awesome, even with a borrowed motor in it. I've been racing for 35 years now legally and about five more of sneaking in using my brother's name, so I guess I've been at this a good 40 years."
Schill finally made his move and used the outer groove to pull alongside Peterson on lap 22 before completing the pass for the lead on lap 25. Schill's outside pass also brought along Loch as Peterson was relegated to third. Schill led at lap 35 and collected the $100 Mac Tools Halfway Bonus as Morgan took third place from Peterson. Schill extended his lead to eight car lengths while Morgan caught Loch to take over second.
