with 7 major feature wins

(Elk Mound, WI - November 5, 2001) "Kentucky Lake was our last event of the season, and we are now going to began working on preparing our race program for the 2002 season," comments Jimmy Mars from his home in Elk Mound, WI. Jimmy has taken his ParkerStores Total Hose and Fitting Service sponsored Monte Carlo to seven major feature victories in the 2001 season including his career first UDTRA PRO DirtCar Series victory.

Jimmy capped off his 2001 season at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway this past weekend (November 3-4) in the Blue Grass Nationals and Commonwealth Cup. Mars put forth an exceptional effort and successfully transferred into both feature events including a win in the fourth heat race in the Blue Grass Nationals. "We had a good run put together for the first night and took a win in the fourth heat race to give us a top starting spot for the feature but a flat tire on the warm-up laps that put us two laps down," comments Mars. "On the second night, we were running fourth with six laps to go and we were caught up in someone else's accident that took us out of contention." Jimmy's efforts at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway gives the Wisconsin native a total of 60 major feature starts in the 2001 season.

To conclude the 2001 season, Jimmy produced seven feature wins, 22 top-5 and 33 top-10 finishes along with two pole awards. "We had just as good of season as anybody on the circuits but misfortunate kept us out of victory lane several times," comments Jimmy on his 2001 season. "We were disappointed with some of our finishes, but overall, we had a lot of top-5 and top-10 finishes and gave ParkerStores a good run in 2001."

Throughout the off-season, www.jimmymarsracing.com will be providing exclusive updates on Jimmy Mars and team as they progress towards the 2002 season.
