TALLADEGA, AL - Donny Schatz and Danny Lasoski have had their share of battles and the duo had another good one on Saturday night at the Talladega Short Track. After qualifying 2nd in the field and winning the second heat race, Schatz drove the #15 ParkerStores J&J past two cars in the O'Reilly's Dash to earn the fourth starting spot. Lasoski took the early lead, but Schatz led from lap five until lap 20 when Lasoski regained the lead. Two laps later Schatz regained the lead and the two exchanged the lead until Donny took command for 12 laps. With two laps to go, Lasoski got back by Schatz to claim the win. "I just had some problems with traffic right at the end," Schatz said. "I kept getting beside the #U2 (Paul McMahan) and the #29 (Wayne Johnson). They kept wanting to try to pass me back, and then Danny just got by me again on the bottom. "We struggled at the beginning of the season, but Kenny (Woodruff) and Shane (Anderson) have worked really hard, and maybe I've been lacking a little bit on my performance. Now that the weather's getting warmer, we're getting back on track. We really need to get that first win to feel completely better. I thought I had it tonight." The team will race three times this week first on Wednesday at Lakeside Speedway near Kansas City. On Friday and Saturday, Schatz will be on the legendary clay of Knoxville Raceway.
