PERRIS, CA, February 22, 2003 - Despite meticulous preparation, attention to detail and checking then double checking, season opening race events often test the patience and the dedication of the driver, team owner, crew members and sponsors. But, when you have a great program with everyone having confidence in one another, adversity is more easily overcome. That is the metal of which Donny Schatz and the ParkerStore #15 team are made.

After Friday's fuel cell problems at Hanford, the team headed for Perris Auto Speedway, Perris, CA looking forward to a solid night of racing. But early on in the evening, poor performance dictated an engine change however, there had been so much time spent dealing with the engine issues, there was no time to make the appropriate changes to set the chassis correctly for the track and anticipated conditions.

Schatz qualified 20th, finished seventh in his heat which relegated the Fargo native to the B-main. He finished second in the B-main and 16th in the A-Main.

The next event for the O'Reilly World of Outlaws is February 28 and March 1 at the Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
