TEAM CAPTURES TWO TOP-TEN
FINISHES OVER THE WEEKEND

SEDALIA AND PEVELY, MO - APRIL 11-12, 2003
- The World of Outlaws Friday April 11 stop at Sedalia's (Missouri) State Fair Speedway started with intense drama for Donny Schatz and the #15 ParkerStore team. As the North Dakota driver hot-lapped in preparation for the night's events, an engine problem reared its ugly head preventing him from presenting the car for a qualifying attempt.

Starting last in the final heat race following an engine change, Schatz used the race to make sure all systems were go and getting a feel for the track. Starting on the outside of the sixth row in the B-Main loaded with talented competitors including former WoO champion Mark Kinser, Joey Saldana and Jac Haudenschild, Schatz put his elbows up and drove to a strong second place finish behind Saldana qualifying for the A-Main.

Lining up 24th, the outside of the last row, Schatz had his work cut out for him in the 25-lap feature event. Having just finished the strong run in the B feature, Schatz knew he had a strong mount under him and at the drop of the green, he started picking off cars in a dramatic charge to the front. Taking advantage of restarts and strategically setting up passes; Schatz crossed the finish line in 10th.

Saturday the traveling series was set to do battle at I-55 Speedway, Pevely, MO. The night got off to a much better start for Schatz with a 9th place qualifying run. He scored a second place finish in the heat race and followed up with a second in his dash as well.

The track took rubber making the racing fast and intense. Schatz waged a great battle with USAC Silver Crown teammate Tyler Walker, Danny Lasoski and Jason Allard for the third through sixth places until Walker and Allard tangled bringing out the red flag on lap 38 of the scheduled 40 lap feature event.

Schatz and Lasoski hammered on one another at the drop of the green-white-checkered finish with Schatz taking the fourth finishing position just inches behind Lasoski.

Following testing at Indianapolis Raceway Park in the ParkerStore Silver Crown car, Schatz will be set for the April 18-19 event at Eldora Speedway, Rossburg, Ohio.
