FARGO, ND - November 28, 2003 - Donny Schatz, driver of the #15 ParkerStores Shaver J & J in the World of Outlaws series is one of five drivers nominated for the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum 410 Sprint Car Driver of the Year.

The National Sprint Car Poll Awards Reception will be held at the Westin Hotel in Indianapolis, Indiana. The December 4th reception, to be hosted by Dave Argabright and Pat Sullivan, will begin at 6:00 p.m. The event is free, casual and open to the racing community and is once again being held in conjunction with the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Trade Show.

Schatz joins fellow drivers Greg Hodnett, Steve Kinser, Danny Lasoski and Joey Saldana as a nominee for the prestigious award. Nominees to the various categories are the result of the National Sprint Car Poll (NSCP) voted by a panel of media members, manufacturers, sanctioning officials and promoters, all of whom are primarily involved in the sport of sprint car racing. The awards will be presented in an Oscars-style poll award presentation.

"It is a tremendous honor to be a nominee for the 410 Driver of the Year award," said Schatz. "I have raced week after week against the other drivers nominated in this category and have great respect for their talent. The group of nominees is very impressive and clearly the best of the best in a 410 winged sprint car. Regardless of which one of us gets the award, I want to extend my thanks to the panel for including me in this prestigious list."

The evening's festivities will conclude with the announcement of those individuals that have been elected to the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame as the ‘class of 2004’.
