MECHANICSBURG, PA (May 27) – Donny Schatz and the ParkerStore team rebounded nicely on Thursday night in the World of Outlaws Sprint Series preliminary feature event at Williams Grove Speedway. After Tuesday’s disappointing mechanical problem cost them a good finish at Lernerville Speedway, Schatz came home fourth in the 25-lap feature event, which locks the #15 ParkerStore J&J into Friday’s 30-lap $12,000-to-win “A” Feature event.

The Fargo, ND driver began the second night of the “Northeast Swing” by qualifying 22nd at “the Grove” in the field of 40 cars. He won the third heat race and raced from eighth to fifth in the second dash event to gain the 10th starting position in the feature event.

The feature was only slowed twice and in both cases the race leader was involved. On lap 10, race leader Fred Rahmer had Brook Weibley spin just in front of him in turn four causing Rahmer to bounce off the wall. Schatz was running in sixth place at the time of this caution and was still there on lap 22 when Danny Lasoski passed Rahmer for the lead. Just after the pass, Brian Brown spun in front right in front of Lasoski and “the Dude” wasn’t as fortunate as Rahmer and was collected in the accident along with third place runner Jonathan Allard. When the race restarted for the final three laps, Schatz was in fourth and that’s where he finished.

This marks the fourth time this season in six double feature event programs where Schatz and the #15 ParkerStore J&J has been locked into the second night. Schatz will try to increase his career feature win total at the historic half-mile dirt oval to eight on Friday night.
