Chico, CA - Kyle ‘The Wild Child’ Larson wasted no time getting into victory lane in his newly sponsored ParkerStore ride.

Larson picked up the QRC Cup Perpetual Trophy at Cycleland Speedway on Tuesday, September 7th. He competed in both divisions, electing to compete in the Open Class (not the Open Intermediate division that he races in weekly there).

Kyle set fast time in the 125cc class. The format took the top 8 to the dash and inverted the top 6. Kyle came from 6th to 2nd which gave him the outside front row position for the main event. Kyle took the lead from the start and led every lap. This was Kyle's fourth QRC Cup Trophy in his 5 years of racing at Cycleland (3 box stock wins, 2000, 2002 & 2003).

In the open division he qualified 10th fast. He started on the pole of his heat but while pushing off it was noticed that fuel was pouring out of his overflow hoses on the carburetor. As he was circling the track, fuel was quickly being deposited. Mike knew that he would probably run out of fuel before the race was over. Sure enough, Kyle took the lead and began pulling away from the field until, under a yellow flag, the tank ran out.

Kyle started 17th in the B-main and claimed the fifth and last transfer spot to the A-main. In the A-main Kyle started last of 22 karts. He advanced a few positions until, while trying to avoid a stalled kart in turn 4, he hit the wall causing the axle to move over and the brake to malfunction. Kyle pulled off the track with a 16th place finish.

The young ‘hot shoe’ currently leads the 125cc class in the QRC All Star tour, the Worlds largest Outlaw Sprint Kart Tour, by 82 points with one event remaining.

Last weekend at Carson City, NV, Larson finished 8th in the A-main event in the 125cc class and suffered mechanical problems it the 500 Open Class. He also set fast time and won his heat in the 125cc class.
