Larson also sets Fast Time in the 500cc Open Intermediate Class

Elk Grove, CA - Kyle “The California Wild Child” Larson had another great night last Saturday night in the 125cc division, but struggled with engine problems in the Open Intermediate division.

Larson, steering the ParkerStore QRC Factory Kart swept the 125cc division with fast time, trophy dash and A-Main event wins. He set fast time with 11.496 seconds out of 19 karts. Kyle started outside the 3rd row in the 6 kart trophy dash. On the start he moved into 4th and quickly took over 3rd from Brian Southers, but lost the spot a half lap later. Once again he took over 3rd down the back straightaway and began to work on 2nd place runner Cody Miller. A lap later he had the position and set his sights on leader Thomas Bruckenstein. Coming to the white flag the two were side by side and stayed that way until entering turn three where Larson assumed the lead and carried it to the checkered flag.

In the A-Main event Kyle started inside the 3rd row. By lap 3 he had moved into 4th place when a yellow came out for a spun kart. On the restart Kyle dropped to 6th and a lap later nearly spun coming out of turn four Luckily a kart made contact with the1K and straightened him back out, but now he found himself in 9th place. When the next yellow came out on lap 5 Kyle was in 7th place. By lap 8 Kyle had moved into 4th. After a restart Kyle took over 3rd in turn two and then grabbed 2nd at the flag stand. On lap 14 Kyle took over the point position from Cole Peard and continued to pull away for the remaining six laps going on for the win. The young ParkerStore pilot did everything he could possibly do to cut the point lead of Mason Moore. He began the night trailing Moore by 28 points, but cut the margin to only 8 going into the final point’s event of the season.

In the Open Intermediate (OI) division Kyle qualified fast time with an 11.147. This proved to be the only highlight in this class, as the team suffered engine failures in both the dash and A-Main events.
